Create a Tropical Hibiscus Wreath with Kunin Felt

Sharing is caring!

I love the bright and colorful hibiscus flowers and monstera leaves that grow wild here in sunny Florida, but they don't last long once picked.  Create a tropical hibiscus wreath with Kunin Felt that will brightly welcome the season without fading in that hot Summer sun!  So excited that this tutorial, Create a Tropical Hibiscus Wreath, was featured on Craft Gossip!

Here’s how to make it:

Step One:

Download TROPICAL HIBISCUS WREATH PATTERNS print on plain paper and then cut out with scissors.  If not already green, base coat the wreath form with Forest Green paint, set aside to dry.  Apply a second coat, if necessary.

Step Two:

Apply a small amount of adhesive to the back of each pattern to hold in place while cutting.   Cut out the following from Kunin Classics™ Felt:  five Apple Green and five Pirate Green monstera leaves; four Neon Green tropical branches; six Kelly Green hibiscus leaves; two Violet Sky and three Shocking Pink hibiscus flowers; five Gold stamen.

Step Three:

Attach the stamens to the center of the hibiscus flowers with a small amount of hot glue, then pinch the center of the flower underneath as the glue sets to create dimension in the finished flower. Using the same technique, adhere the ten monstera leaves to the wreath form with hot glue, again pinching the centers to create dimension.

Step Four:

Continue layering on the tropical branches, finished hibiscus flowers and hibiscus leaves, pinching as you go!
