Woodland Deer Felt Mask an Easy No-Sew DIY

Sharing is caring!

When I can combine several of my favorite brands into one project, it's like the best day ever! My Woodland Deer Felt Mask is an Easy No-Sew DIY project that can be made in just about 30 minutes with limited supplies and Free Patterns. Masks created with Kunin Felt are soft and comfortable, plus I get to use Poly-Fil Braided Elastic, my favorite Fabri-Fuse liquid fabric glue, and the best permanent marker the MONO Twin from Tombow. A quadruple WIN!

Here's what you need to make a Felt Mask for Playtime:

.

Here's how to create a No-Sew Mask for Halloween:

STEP ONE

To begin the Woodland Deer Felt Mask, gather all supplies. Download and print out the Pattern Sheet below ⇓ Roughly cut out the paper patterns and group them based according to the color of felt being used. Cut out and trace the deer spots onto Cream Kunin® Classic™ Felt with the MONO Twin permanent marker from Tombow, and then cut out inside the traced lines with scissors.

STEP TWO

Secure the deer mask base pattern onto Copper Canyon Kunin® Classic™ Felt with straight pins and then cut out with scissors. Pin the ear patterns onto Light Pink Kunin® Classic™ Felt, the cheek patterns onto Cashmere Tan Kunin® Classic™ Felt, the antler patterns onto Walnut Kunin® Classic™ Felt. Carefully cut out all patterns with scissors.

STEP THREE

Cut out the eye holes from the deer mask base pattern, layer onto the copper canyon felt, trace the eye holes with the MONO Twin black marker and cut out with sharp detail scissors. Repeat with the eye holes in the deer cheek patterns with the cashmere tan felt deer eyes, tracing the eye holes with the MONO Twin, then cut out with scissors.

STEP FOUR

Layer and dry fit all the deer mask pieces together on your work surface. Attach all the pieces to the base with Fabri-Fuse liquid fabric glue. Set aside to dry. Fabri-Fuse is a liquid fabric glue from the makers of E6000 so it has a good grab, a strong hold, and gives the finished project a bit of elasticity, which is imperative when working with fabric of any kind.

STEP FIVE

Measure and cut a length of Poly-Fil braided elastic that is 12” long. Flip Woodland Deer Felt Mask over and attach elastic to the right and left sides of the mask with Fabri-Fuse. I applied glue between the elastic and felt, as well as, around the edges of the elastic. Set aside to dry. Once dry, I pulled quite hard on the elastic and the hold was strong and secure.

  • Do you have the links to the posts for the other masks? I’ve looked all over the Kunin Felt website and cannot find them. My grandson and I were going to make all three of them but I only have the deer pattern from this post. Thanks!
