Create a Dollar Tree Rope Ghost to add to your Halloween decorations. Using cotton rope from Dollar Tree, and recycled cardboard, create this quick and easy ghost made from cotton rope in just 30 minutes.

Make Halloween Rope Ghost

• Cotton Nautical Rope, 6.8ft. – Dollar Tree
• Cardboard – Recycled
• Glue Gun and Glue Sticks – Dollar Tree
• Jute Twine – Dollar Tree
• Kunin Classic Felt Craft Cut Sheet – Black
• Chalk Pencil or Straight Pins
• Scissors – I love my Fiskars!
• Ruler
• Pencil
• ROPE GHOST PATTERNS download from the bottom of this post

Create a Ghost from Rope

STEP ONE

Gather all supplies. Download, print, and cut out the ROPE GHOST BASE PATTERN download from the bottom of this post. Trace the semi-circle pattern onto cardboard with a pencil.

Cut out the semi-circle Rope Ghost base pattern with scissors. The rope is pretty heavy, so corrugated cardboard makes the best base. This size ghost will require 2 packages of cotton rope.

STEP TWO

Dry fit the rope around the outside edge of the cardboard base, and using a ruler, measure 12” from the top of the ghost to the bottom edge of the rope.

STEP THREE

Trim the first section of rope with scissors. Attach the rope to the cardboard base using a glue gun and glue sticks. You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.

Dry fit the next section of rope. Attach with a glue gun and glue sticks. Trim the cotton rope with scissors. Continue adding additional rope sections, securing them with a glue gun and glue sticks until the entire piece of cardboard is covered.

STEP FOUR

Unravel each of the loose sections of rope by hand, leaving the three individual lengths curly. Dollar Tree has such a HUGE selection of materials that can be upcycled and good quality craft supplies which won’t blow your budget!

STEP FIVE

Give the loose curly ends of the cotton rope a final trim with scissors. Lay the ghost down on a flat surface, place your hand or a ruler toward the edge, and then carefully trim the uneven ends with scissors.

STEP SIX

Download, print, and cut out the ROPE GHOST FACE PATTERNS with scissors. Trace or pin the patterns onto black craft felt. Cut out all patterns with scissors. Have fun with this project and draw your own face for the ghost.

STEP SEVEN

Attach the craft felt eyes and mouth to the Rope Ghost face with a glue gun and glue sticks. Add fun accessories to give your ghost personality. Maybe a hair bow or bow tie, or have them hold a small pumpkin.

STEP EIGHT

Measure a 12” length of jute twine and cut with scissors. Flip the ghost over and attach the jute twine hanger to the cardboard with a glue gun and glue sticks.
