Halloween Paintbrush Witch Gnome
STEP ONE
Gather all supplies. Place Warm Sunset acrylic craft paint on a paper plate and dip the entire bristle part of the paintbrush into the paint. Dollar Tree has such a HUGE selection of materials that can be upcycled and good quality craft supplies which won’t blow your budget!

Once the paintbrush bristles are soaked in Warm Sunset, place the brush on the edge of the paper plate to dry completely. This will probably take overnight.

STEP TWO
Measure and cut the jumbo craft stick to 3.5” long. Carefully cut the rounded ends off with scissors. Wooden craft sticks are such a versatile craft supply.

STEP THREE
Basecoat the rest of the paintbrush, and the jumbo craft stick with Lamp Black acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary. I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.

STEP FOUR
Paint the wooden bead with Hauser Light Green acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.

STEP FIVE
Attach the jumbo craft stick to the bottom edge of the paintbrush with a glue gun and glue sticks to create the witch’s hat brim. Glue the wooden bead to the center of the gnome’s beard. TIP: You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.

Using a glue gun and glue sticks, attach black and orange plaid ribbon around the paint brush just above the hat brim. Tie additional ribbon in a bow and glue to the top of the paint brush. Trim any long ends of the ribbon with scissors.

STEP SIX
To finish, embellish the witch’s hat with assorted yellow, orange, green, and purple buttons.
