Do you have a sad, flat bean bag chair at home? Well, my tutorial How to Refill a Bean Bag Chair is a quick and easy alternative to buying new. And boy, can new bean bag chairs be expensive. While visiting family over Super Bowl weekend, my niece asked if I knew how to help her refill a bean bag chair from her college days. Being familiar with Poly-Fil® Classic Bean Bag Filler from Fairfield World™, I immediately said YES!

Here's what you need to Upcycle a Bean Bag Chair:
- Poly-Fil® Classic Bean Bag Filler from Fairfield World™ – Two Bags, 2 cubic feet each
- Old Bean Bag Chair – check thrift stores
- Zip Ties – Two
- Patience
- A Helper
Here's how to Easily Fill Up a Bean Bag:
STEP ONE
After a quick trip to Joann and two bags of Poly-Fil® Classic Bean Bag Filler later, we headed to the backyard to begin. I would recommend completing any project with Bean Bag Filler outdoors or in the garage. This chair had a double zipper closure, but no pulls on the zippers. Attach small zip ties, so opening and closing the chair is easier.
STEP TWO
Poly-Fil® Classic Bean Bag Filler has a plastic pour spout at the top of the bag with a resealable lid. Remove the lid and pour the bean bag filler into any size opening. Saving any unused product is a breeze, just screw on the lid.
STEP THREE
Unzip a small section of the bean bag chair and shake all existing beans to the very bottom. Pour in the Poly-Fil® Classic Bean Bag Filler. This process is easier with two people. One holding the bag and pouring with the other holding the bean bag chair off the ground.
STEP FOUR
As the bag of bean bag filler empties, roll the bottom of the bag toward the top to remove the air from the bag and force the beans out of the spout. Here is the bean bag chair after one bag (two cubic feet) of Poly-Fil® Classic Bean Bag Filler.
STEP FIVE
Keep filling and shaking the bean bag chair to make sure that the filler beans are getting into all the nooks and crannies inside the chair. Here's what the bean bag chair looks like after both bags of Poly-Fil® Classic Bean Bag Filler. SUCCESS!

This is a really good idea. I always like the idea of remaking something instead of just throwing it away. Thanks for sharing a great tutorial and inspiration. #HomeMattersParty
