Jack-O-Lantern Home Decor
STEP ONE
Basecoat all four art canvases with Spiced Pumpkin acrylic craft paint. While still wet, add in strokes of Burnt Orange and Warm Sunset acrylic craft paint. Blend until you are pleased with the color variations. Set aside to allow the paint to dry. I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.

STEP TWO
Download and print the JACK-O-LANTERN PATTERNS from the bottom of this post, and then cut them out with scissors. Flip over one canvas and trace the Jack-O-Lantern features with a pencil.

Place the canvas on a self-healing mat and carefully cut out the Jack-O-Lantern features with a craft knife.

STEP THREE
Basecoat the backside and edges of the four art canvases with Warm Sunset acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Trim a wooden craft stick into three pieces with scissors and attach them to the back of the Jack-O-Lantern teeth with a glue gun and glue sticks. This will prevent the canvas from curling. The Dollar Tree craft section is perfect for finding good-quality arts and crafts supplies and getting creative!

STEP FOUR
Attach the four art canvases together in a rectangle using a glue gun and glue sticks. Glue one canvas to the right-hand side and one to the left-hand side of the Jack-O-Lantern face canvas.

Secure the back canvas to the first three with a glue gun and glue sticks to complete the rectangle. Place the lantern aside to allow the glue to cool and set up completely.

STEP FIVE
Download and print the LEAF PATTERN, layer onto a scrap of olive green craft felt, and cut out two leaf patterns with scissors. To create dimension, apply a dot of glue at the base of each leaf and fold it in half. Kunin Classic Felt comes in 9″ by 12″ Craft Cuts that make all your DIY projects quick and easy since it won't fray when cut.

Measure and cut two 12” lengths of wired twine using wire cutters. Wrap around a pencil, and then slide off to create a vine. Stretch and bend the wire to create a pumpkin vine.

Attach a champagne cork to the front center of the canvas with a glue gun and glue sticks. Hold in place until the glue dries completely. Glue the wired twine vines and the leaves to the sides of the cork stem.

STEP SIX
Measure and cut a piece of vellum paper 4” by 6” and place it inside the lantern behind the Jack-O-Lantern features. You could also use parchment paper or waxed paper if vellum is not available.

Place batteries in a strand of twinkle lights and place the LED lights inside the lantern. The vellum gives the lantern a soft glow.
