Here's how to create a Dollar Tree Leprechaun Hat:
STEP ONE
To begin the popsicle stick leprechaun hat craft, gather all materials and protect your work surface. This project was made with regular craft sticks, but you could also use jumbo craft sticks.
STEP TWO
Line up craft sticks with six vertically and one horizontally. Download, print, and cut out CRAFT STICK LEPRECHAUN HAT PATTERNS at the bottom of this post. Trace the hat base onto the kelly green craft paper, cut it out with scissors, and glue it to the back of the craft sticks.
STEP THREE
Color in front of the hat with a green washable marker. Set aside to dry. Markers work great with little kids, but you can also use bright green acrylic craft paint.
STEP FOUR
Trace the hat band onto black craft paper and trace the hat buckle onto gold glitter craft paper, cut out both shapes with scissors. Attach the band and the buckle to the hat with a glue gun and glue sticks. You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
STEP FIVE
Tie a bow with rainbow ribbon, fishtail cut the ends, and glue to the center of the gold glitter buckle. Cutting a triangular notch from the end of the ribbon will prevent the ends from fraying.
STEP SIX
Trace and cut shamrock shape from bright green craft paper. Decorate with a green washable marker, adding either a pattern or the recipient’s name. Glue to Leprechaun Hat.
