DIY Family Thankful Turkey Bucket
STEP ONE
To begin the DIY Thankful Bucket Dollar Tree Craft, gather all supplies. Paint the outside of the metal bucket with Light Cinnamon acrylic paint. Set aside to dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. I love using Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have excellent one-coat coverage on most surfaces.
STEP TWO
Cut out a triangle beak shape from Yellow Kunin Classic Felt, a wiggly waddle shape from Red Kunin Classic Felt, and two turkey feet shapes from Orange Kunin Classic Felt. Attach two wiggle eyes and felt features to the turkey bucket with a glue gun and glue sticks.
STEP THREE
Write “I am THANKFUL for…” on a small shipping tag with the MONO Twin Permanent Marker. Tie the tag onto the handle of the turkey bucket with a 10” length of natural jute twine and finish with a bow. Fill the bucket with crinkled paper shreds. The MONO Twin is my favorite permanent marker because it has a larger bullet tip and a small extra fine tip.
STEP FOUR
Lay out 15 colored jumbo craft sticks on your work surface. Write thankful sayings on craft sticks with a pencil, and then ink in with the MONO Twin Permanent Marker. Use the thankful prompts listed in the photo or make up your own based on what is important to your family.
STEP FIVE
Place all 15 colored jumbo craft sticks in the Thankful Turkey Bucket using the crinkled paper shred to hold them in place. The thankful prompts become the turkey feathers! Make a bucket to keep for your family and one to give to friends.
