Tombow USA and Waffle Flower BLOG HOP!

Sharing is caring!

HAPPY FRIDAY and WELCOME to the Waffle Flower and Tombow USA Blog Hop!!

This week Tombow USA is teaming
up with Waffle Flower Crafts to bring you a blog hop full of inspiration! Make
sure you visit Tombow USA and Waffle Flower on Facebook and tell them how much
you loved this Blog Hop!
You probably hopped over here from Tessa Wise‘s blog but if not, please go back to the beginning of the hop at the Waffle
Flower Blog
so you don't miss any of the inspirational projects!
Here's how I made my Feathered Wreath:

Die cut approximately 30 large feathers and 30 small feathers from the Wafffle Flower Feather More Die Set using a variety of robins egg blue and turquoise patterned papers.  The Waffle Flower Dies are thin metal dies, that cut 2 layers of cardstock at a time – great for a project like this!

Place medium feather from the Waffle Flower Feather More Stamp Set on a clear acrylic stamp block.  Ink up stamp with Ranger Distress Inks Evergreen Bough, Broken China, Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean.  The waffle Flower Stamps are a great quality and transfer the ink to the paper evenly without having to use a lot of pressure.

Repeat with large feather from the Waffle Flower Feather More Stamp Set.  The clear stamps make it super easy to line up the stamped image with the die cut shape!

Paint the 6″ wreath form with Americana paint by DecoArt in Bahama Breeze, let dry. Attach approximately 12 large feathers to the front and 12 large feathers to the back of the wreath form using Tombow USA Xtreme Permanent Adhesive.  The Tombow Xtreme Adhesive has a strong, permanent bond, so attaching cardstock to wood is no problem!

Apply Tombow USA 3D Foam Tabs in between the large feathers on the front of the wreath.  Using your thumb nail and fore finger, curl each feather slightly.  Peel back liner paper and attach 12 medium feathers.  Tombow 3D Foam Tabs have a strong bond and are great for giving dimension to any project!

Attach a second layer of  Tombow USA 3D Foam Tabs in between the first layer of medium feathers.  Curl and attach 12 more medium feathers.

Here is a detail of the layers of curled feathers.  Just that slight curl gives a three dimensional POP to the wreath.

Attach 4 medium and 2 large feathers with Tombow USA 3D Foam Tabs to center of wreath for added texture.  Accent random feathers using the Tombow USA MONO Glue Pen to “draw on” detail lines, then sprinkle with glitter for extra sparkle!  The Tombow MONO Glue Pen literally draws the glue on to your surface which is great for super fine details and hard to reach places!

Here is another detail photo, so you can really see the dimension and the glitter!  LOVE!

Now on to the FUN stuff – PRIZES!!
You have until June 5th, 2015 to comment and the

  • What a creative idea for a wreath! I hardly ever think to stamp on patterned paper, but love what subtle depth doing that gives to your feathers. Great project!!
