I love cupcakes on days that end in “Y”. How about you? Celebrating every day comes in different shapes and sizes these days, but my good days always include cupcakes! Most of the time I am baking cupcakes from scratch with my niece, but I love to pick up a cupcake (or two) when I'm at the grocery store. Adding some hand-drawn goodness with a FREE Printable just ups the fun factor with Doodle Flower Cupcake Toppers. Festive for a crafty birthday, a Summer picnic, or even a Tuesday afternoon! Here's what you need to make colorful Floral Cupcake Toppers:

• Tombow Dual Brush Pens
• Tombow 1500 Colored Pencils
• Cardstock – 65lb. Bright White
• Scissors – I love my Fiskars!
• Tombow Xtreme Permanent Adhesive
• Flat Wooden Picks
• Ribbon – Green, Assorted
• Computer

Here's how to create Cupcake Toppers to Celebrate every day!

STEP ONE

Download Doodle Flower Cupcake Toppers FRONT and BACK free printables below. I like to use a heavy 65 lb. bright white cardstock for projects like this. Laser printing is preferred if using a water-based marker, like the Tombow Dual Brush Pens because the printed lines will not smear. If printing with an inkjet printer I like the Tombow 1500 Colored Pencils for vivid colors. Use what you have on hand to celebrate – crayons would work great!

STEP TWO

Color the front and back of the Doodle Flower Cupcake Toppers. I drew the front sheet of flowers first and then flipped it to create a mirror image for the back sheet. This way the flowers will line up perfectly when attached together. Then cut out the flower images with scissors. If you don't want to fussy cut the flowers, use a circle punch instead.

STEP THREE

Apply a strong adhesive like Tombow Xtreme Permanent adhesive runner to the back image. Place flat wooden pick at the base of the flower, then line up and attach the front flower. Easy peasy! This would be a fun activity for a birthday party.

STEP FOUR

For some added texture (and fun), measure and cut six inch lengths of assorted green ribbons. Tie the ribbons in a knot around the wooden pick and trim ends. The ribbon mimics leaves and makes the toppers extra fancy!

STEP FIVE

Organizing is a breeze with the Deflecto Rotating Carousel Organizer

Here is the plastic bin now overflowing with baking supplies and decorations. I couldn't even get the lid on it so it was shoved into a kitchen cabinet. Every time I open that cabinet the containers would spill on the floor – not good!

The Rotating Carousel Organizer from Deflecto has clear canisters and is available in white and black. There are nine canisters, three that are six inches tall and six that are three inches tall. Perfect for mixing and matching. The tall canisters are filled with cookie cutters, holiday sprinkles, and everyday sprinkles. The short canisters are filled with food coloring, pastry bags with tips, candy melts, and cupcake liners. I took all the supplies out of their packaging, so they would be easier to see. The sprinkles are in mini zipper plastic bags.
