Here's what you need to make Herb Clay Pots

Here's how to create Custom Herb Pots

STEP ONE

Give each of the terra cotta clay flowerpots and saucers a rough coat of Warm White acrylic paint using a baby wipe or damp paper towel to spread the paint. Make sure the paint is streaky and uneven to create a farmhouse look. Set aside to dry.

I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.

STEP TWO

Select the letters to spell the names of the herbs you are planting in your pots and pop them off the backing sheet. These letters are iron on but can be attached with a liquid glue with a fine applicator tip.

MONO Multi Liquid Glue is great for all surfaces, dries clear, plus has a fine tip and a larger broad tip.

STEP THREE

I love the raised effect that the embroidered letters creates on the rough terra cotta flowerpot. You can also use letter stickers, just make sure that you seal the area with decoupage medium after applying the sticks.

STEP FOUR

Create a trio of custom herb flowerpots of your most used herbs. Double check your spellings before gluing on the pot. I might have spelled CILANTRO wrong the first time – LOL!

STEP FIVE

Carefully transfer the live potted herbs into the terra cotta pots and water generously. Place the pots on the saucers to finish this 15 minute Dollar Tree craft.
