DIY Easter Basket
STEP ONE
Gather all materials. Remove tags and packaging. Basecoat the inside and outside of the metal paper clip cup with Warm Sunset acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. Making sure to paint the bottom. I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.

STEP TWO
Attach the twine-wrapped carrots to the outside of the metal paper clip cup using a glue gun and glue sticks. Make sure to glue the carrots close together, filling in all the empty spaces.

The last carrot was a bit of a tight fit, so gently squeeze the foam carrot between your fingers and thumb, then insert it, securing it with glue.

STEP THREE
Measure two 12” lengths of wired jute cord, then trim to size with wire cutters. Twist the two lengths of wired jute cord together to create one handle. Dollar Tree has such a HUGE selection of materials that can be upcycled and good quality craft supplies that won’t blow your budget!

STEP FOUR
Carefully bend the handle to create an arch. Attach the ends of the handle to the right and left side of the carrot basket, tucking into empty spaces between the carrots. Secure the ends of the handle with a glue gun and glue sticks.

STEP FIVE
Tie a bow with black and white gingham ribbon, and attach to the top edge of the basket with a glue gun and glue sticks. Trim any long ends with scissors.

This is so cute, Beth! I’ve had these carrots for two years I think and didn’t know what to do with them. I’m going to go find them right now. Thanks for the inspiration. Hugs, Maria
