Dollar Tree Holiday Home Decor

Sharing is caring!

Super cute Interchangeable Holiday Home Decor is quick and easy to make with Extreme Tack from Eclectic Products, the makers of E6000. Extreme Tack always stays tacky, so you can make your own glue dots and I'll show you how. I love pieces of home decor that serve multiple purposes, and this cute little house can be customized to your personal colors and holidays.

Here's what you need to make a Holiday House:

Here's how to create an Interchangeable Holiday House:

STEP ONE

To begin the Interchangeable Holiday Home Decor house, gather all supplies. Y'all know that I love crafting with supplies found at Dollar Tree, so when I saw these little wooden houses in the craft section, I bought all six of them.

STEP TWO

To make E6000® Extreme Tack repositionable glue dots, lay down a piece of parchment or waxed paper on your work surface. Draw circles on the parchment paper with the Extreme Tack, and place them aside to allow them to set up. When wet, the Extreme Tack will be a milky white, but when set it becomes clear. You can make repositionable glue dots in any size that you need, and make as many or as few as you need. GAME CHANGER!

STEP THREE

Paint the little house with a light coat of UNICORN SPiT® Gel Stain White Ning, allowing the grain of the wood to show through. Paint the two jumbo wooden craft sticks with UNICORN SPiT® Gel Stain Rustic Reality Brown, then wipe away any excess with a paper towel to reveal the wood grain. Set aside to dry. I love using UNICORN SPiT® from Eclectic Products for the vibrant colors and gel stain effect. You can also apply additional coats of UNICORN SPiT® to create an opaque finish.

STEP FOUR

Download and print the Holiday Home Decor Icon Patterns below ⇓ Cut them out with scissors and use them as patterns with a rainbow of colors of Kunin Classic Felt Craft Cuts to create super cute icons that represent all of the holidays. Assemble the holiday icons with E6000® Fabri-Fuse Liquid Fabric Glue. This is where you can get creative and design your own icons that represent your favorite holidays.

STEP FIVE

Measure and cut the two jumbo craft sticks to create a roof for the house, and attach with Extreme Tack, which makes a great permanent adhesive when applied wet. Select the letter stickers H, M, E, and attach them to the house in the stacked format pictured below. You can create your own message by selecting LOVE, GROW, or even LIFE.

STEP SIX

Cut the parchment paper around the E6000® Extreme Tack repositionable glue dots into squares. Place one glue dot on the back of each felt icon. Remove the parchment square and attach the felt icon to the holiday home decor house. When the seasons change, just switch out with a new icon and place the one you removed onto the parchment paper square. The Extreme Tack will always remain tacky, so you can use these felt icons year after year!

Quick and Easy Interchangeable Holiday Home Decor

I love that the E6000® Extreme Tack can be used in two additional ways. For a permanent bond, apply directly onto the surface to be glued and then attach the embellishments, or other surfaces. For a repositionable bond, apply directly to the surface, allow to cure for up to 8 hours, and then attach the embellishments, or other surfaces.

  1. Love this. What an easy way to change things up seasonally and not need a lot of storage for each season. Featuring when my party opens up tonight.
