Here's how to create Reindeer with Candy Cane Antlers
STEP ONE
To begin the Candy Cane Reindeer Craft, gather all supplies. Kunin® Classic™ Felt Craft Cuts are 9″ by 12″ sheets that are perfect for all of your crafting needs. Download, print, and cut out the CANDY CANE REINDEER PATTERS at the bottom of this post ⇓ Pin the reindeer head onto Copper Canyon and Walnut Felt, cutting out two patterns for each treat.
STEP TWO
Pin the reindeer nose to Red, Copper Canyon, and Walnut Felt, then cut out with scissors. You can also trace the patterns onto the felt with a black marker. Remember to cut inside the traced lines for a clean, finished project.
STEP THREE
To create the reindeer face, attach the nose and two wiggle eyes with a glue gun and glue sticks. You can use liquid craft glue for this project but you will have to wait for it to dry. I recommend E6000 Fabri-Fuse Liquid Fabric Glue because it works great with felt.
STEP FOUR
Run a line of glue around the perimeter of the reindeer, leaving the space between the ears open. Attach the front layer to the back layer, lining up the edges. This creates a pocket for the candy canes to be inserted into. If there is any overlapping of the felt, just trim the excess with scissors.
STEP FIVE
The round candy canes tend to slip and slide inside the felt pocket, so my super secret tip is to glue the candy canes together. A dot of glue from the glue gun at the top and bottom is enough to secure them in place. Just make sure the plastic wrappers are still in place when completing this step – LOL! I love that these candy canes are 12 for $1.25 at Dollar Tree.
STEP SIX
Slide the candy canes inside the reindeer's head pocket and they instantly become the antlers! Personalize this sweet treat with a gift tag and ribbon, or customize a message on the back with 3D fabric paint.
