Dollar Tree Craft Stick Heart Sign
STEP ONE
Gather all supplies. To create the sign, line up seven jumbo craft sticks on your work surface. Attach a jumbo craft stick to the top and bottom with a glue gun and glue sticks. You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.

STEP TWO
Basecoat the sign with watered-down Dark Chocolate acrylic craft paint. Paint quickly and then remove the excess paint with a paper towel. This will give the craft sticks a stained appearance.

STEP THREE
Download, print, and cut out the Yarn Wrapped Heart Pattern from the bottom of this post. Trace the heart onto a scrap of corrugated cardboard with a pen or pencil. Carefully cut out the heart with scissors. I love drawing and tracing with the MONO Twin Permanent Marker from Tombow because it has a large bullet tip and a small extra fine tip.

STEP FOUR
Gather several colors of yarn. This project uses red and pink. Tie the two ends of the yarn together in a knot and attach it to the back of the cardboard heart with a glue gun and glue sticks.

STEP FIVE
Start wrapping both strands of yarn around the cardboard heart in a random fashion. Continue wrapping and securing every fifth or sixth wrap with a small dot of glue.

Keep wrapping the yarn around the heart in a random manner until you can no longer see any cardboard. Tie the two ends of the yarn together in a knot and attach it to the back of the cardboard heart with a glue gun and glue sticks.

STEP SIX
Attach the yarn wrapped heart to the craft stick sign with a glue gun and glue sticks. Press down firmly in the center of the heart to make sure that adheres well.

STEP SEVEN
Measure and cut a 12” length of natural jute twine with scissors. Flip the sign over and attach the ends of the twine to the top right and left-hand sides with a glue gun and glue sticks.

STEP EIGHT
Tie pink gingham ribbon into a bow. Cut a notch from the ends of the ribbon tails to prevent fraying. Attach to the top of the sign with a glue gun and glue sticks.
