Dollar Tree Crow Home Decor
STEP ONE
Gather all supplies. Basecoat the entire wooden house with Lamp Black acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.
STEP TWO
Download and print the CROW PATTERNS at the bottom of this post. Cut out patterns with scissors. Using the MONO Twin permanent marker, trace the beak onto Gold Kunin Classic Felt, and then cut out with scissors. You could also use colored cardstock or craft foam for this project. Cut inside the traced line, so that your finished project looks neat and clean.
STEP THREE
To create the face, attach two wiggle eyes and the gold felt beak using a glue gun and glue sticks. Use the photo for placement. You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
STEP FOUR
Glue a black craft feather to the top back center of the crow. Attach one feather on the left-hand and right-hand side of the crow with a glue gun and glue sticks. The Dollar Tree craft section is perfect for finding good quality arts and crafts supplies to get creative with the kiddos!
STEP FIVE
Wrap natural jute twine around the base of the wooden house crow several times. Secure the ends with a double know, and trim and long ends with scissors.
STEP SIX
Using the MONO Twin permanent black marker, add two air holes at the top of the crow’s beak. I love drawing and tracing with the MONO Twin Permanent Marker from Tombow because it has a large bullet tip and a small extra fine tip.
STEP SEVEN
To finish the Wooden House Crow, stamp two cheeks on either side of the beak using a new pencil eraser dipped in Bubblegum Pink acrylic paint.
