DIY Halloween Witch Decor
STEP ONE
Gather all supplies. Place the jumbo craft stick toward the top of the cutting board and draw a line with a pencil. Measure and mark the jumbo craft stick to 4.5” long with a pencil. Trim the ends of the craft stick with scissors.

STEP TWO
Trim a jumbo craft stick into a pointed nose shape with scissors. Paint the nose and wart with Hauser Light Green acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Cut the end from a regular craft stick, and glue onto the nose as a wart. TIP: You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry. I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.

STEP THREE
Basecoat the bottom half of the cutting board with Hauser Light Green acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Basecoat the top half of the cutting board and the jumbo craft stick with Lamp Black acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. Attach the craft stick hat brim to the witch with a glue gun and glue sticks. I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.

STEP FOUR
To create the witch’s hair, cut two orange chenille stems in half with scissors. Twist the four pieces together in the middle and then bend the bundle in half. Repeat with two additional chenille stems.

Attach two wiggle eyes and the nose to the witch with a glue gun and glue sticks. Glue the two bunches of chenille stem hair to the left and right sides of the witch’s hat brim. Dollar Tree has such a HUGE selection of materials that can be upcycled and good quality craft supplies which won’t blow your budget!

Draw on a crooked smile with the MONO Twin permanent black marker. I love drawing and tracing with the MONO Twin Permanent Marker from Tombow because it has a large bullet tip and a small extra fine tip.

STEP FIVE
Using scissors, remove the ring portion from a plastic jeweled spider ring. Roughly paint the spider legs with Slate Grey acrylic craft paint, letting some of the black show through. Set aside to dry.

Tie a bow with a black gingham ribbon. Fishtail the ends by cutting out triangular notches, which gives a finished look and prevents the ribbon from fraying.

Attach the bow to the witch’s hat with a glue gun and glue sticks. To finish, glue the jeweled spider to the center of the bow. The Dollar Tree craft section is perfect for finding good quality arts and crafts supplies to get creative with the kiddos!
