Here's how to create Wooden Spoons of the Sanderson Sisters:
STEP ONE
To begin the Wooden Spoon Sanderson Sisters Hocus Pocus Craft, gather all supplies. Y'all know that I LOVE to doodle and draw, so creating the FREE PRINTABLE for this project was fun, quick, and easy. My pen of choice for doodling is the MONO Twin Permanent Marker from Tombow. It has a thicker bullet tip and a thinner extra fine tip in one pen! And the permanent ink dries instantly, so no smudging of the design.
STEP TWO
Basecoat the top one-third of three wooden spoons with a flesh-tone color of choice acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. Download and print the Wooden Spoon Sanderson Sisters patterns at the bottom of this post ⇓. Using the pattern sheet as your guide, draw the three collars onto the spoons with a pencil. Basecoat Mary’s dress with Deep Burgundy acrylic paint. Paint Winifred’s dress with Festive Green acrylic paint. Basecoat Sarah’s dress with Purple Rain acrylic paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.
STEP THREE
Roughly cut out the hair shapes from the paper pattern. Using straight pins, attach Mary’s hair to Black Kunin Felt, Winifred’s hair to Orange Kunin Felt, and Sarah’s hair to Gold Kunin Felt. Cut out all three hair patterns with scissors. If working with younger kids, you can also cut out all the paper patterns completely and trace the hair onto the felt with a marker, then cut out inside the traced lines for a clean finished project.
STEP FOUR
Attach each sister’s hair to the top edge of the wooden spoon using a glue gun and glue sticks. Apply a line of hot glue around the top edge of the wooden spoon, then attach the hair. Add additional hot glue to the edges that frame each of the witch's faces. Work carefully so there isn't any glue showing when you are done.
STEP FIVE
Flip the three paper face patterns over and scribble a layer of graphite from a pencil over the lips. Fit the face patterns onto each sister, and trace over the lip and beauty mark patterns with the pencil, pressing firmly. This will transfer the lip shapes directly onto the spoon faces accurately. Fill in the lips with Slick Red dimensional fabric paint, and the beauty marks with Slick Black dimensional fabric paint. Set aside to dry. Use a piece of scrap paper to make sure that your dimensional fabric paint and glitter glue are flowing freely with no air bubbles or globs.
STEP SIX
To finish the Sanderson Sisters Dollar Store Wooden Spoons, draw lacing on their three dresses with gold glitter glue. A series of simple “X” marks linked together. Set aside to dry.

Sanderson Sisters Wooden Spoons a Hocus Pocus Craft
Winifred “Winnie” Sanderson is the main antagonist in Disney's 1993 film, Hocus Pocus, and its upcoming 2022 sequel. Winifred is highly intelligent, dramatic, sadistic, cruel, smart, temperamental, clever, logical, competent, wise, witty, and evil, which makes her all the more deadly if one isn't careful. Extremely vain, she is deeply offended whenever she is called ugly and swiftly punishes anyone who dares do so.
Mary Sanderson is Winifred's right-hand witch, always trying her best to appease Winnie and calm her rages. As such, she has a slight rivalry with her sister Sarah, even though their relationship is mostly sweet and loving. In her quest to stay on Winnie's good side, Mary compliments her whenever she can and has a habit of repeating whatever she says. Although perhaps not as cunning or as evil as her eldest sister, she is more competent, clever, and observant than Sarah. And also not as ditzy and airheaded as Sarah.
Sarah Sanderson is extremely flirtatious and enjoys “playing” with people, mainly males. As she has a sadistic sense of humor, it is strongly implied that “playing” with people means torturing them or simply engaging in inappropriate relations. Even so, she is very obedient to her eldest sister Winifred and would unlikely be as evil as she is without her guidance. Although Sarah is an airhead (much to Winifred's frustration) and often says or does stupid things, her unique power -her enchanting, siren-like voice- makes her a very powerful, dangerous, and valuable witch. With her voice, she has charmed all of the children of Salem, using the song quoted above.
