Here's how to create Upcycled New Year's Eve Noisemakers:

STEP ONE

To begin the Recycled New Year Noisemakers, remove the metal cap from the clear plastic ornament and fill it halfway with silver beads. Replace the metal cap. Paint the outside of the ornament with DecoArt® Galaxy Glitter™ Champagne Stardust using a flat paintbrush. Set aside to dry and apply a second coat. Once dry, flip the ornament over and apply two coats, letting them dry in between.

STEP TWO

Tie black grosgrain ribbon into a large bow.  Measure and cut 24” of silver and gold curling ribbon, feed through the back of the bow and then thread on the ornament. Tie the curling ribbon in a knot, securing the ornament onto the large black bow. Curl the ribbon by pulling across the blade of an open pair of scissors and your thumb. Cut notches from the ends of the black ribbon to finish.

STEP THREE

Basecoat the front, back, and sides of a jumbo craft stick with DecoArt® Americana® Acrylic Lamp Black. I love Americana Acrylics for their one-coat coverage on most surfaces. Apply two coats of DecoArt® Galaxy Glitter™ Silver Moon to the front and back of the craft stick and let them dry completely.

STEP FOUR

Measure and cut three 24” lengths of silver and gold curling ribbon. Tie a variety of jingle bells onto the craft stick, securing them with knots.  Curl the ribbon ends with scissors. I love the holographic sparkle from the paint and the curling ribbon.

STEP FIVE

Basecoat a paper party horn with DecoArt® Americana® Acrylic Lamp Black. My paper party horn was leftover from a birthday party. Apply two coats of DecoArt® Galaxy Glitter™ Silver Moon to the paper party horn and let them dry completely in between coats.

STEP SIX

To finish the Recycled New Year Noisemakers, measure and cut 24” of silver and gold curling ribbon. Thread one or two jingle bells onto each ribbon and tie them around the base of the party horn, then secure them with a knot and curl the ribbon ends with scissors. I love how simple supplies and leftovers can become gorgeous party decor and favors. Silver and gold with sparkle and shine just screams New Year's Eve Party!
