Here’s how to create Rainbow Button Wall Artwork:
To begin the Rainbow Button Art, gather all supplies. Open the back of the picture frame and remove the glass. Download and print the Somewhere Over the Rainbow Wall Art Free Printable Quote on white cardstock. Using scissors, trim the quote to fit inside the picture frame. A quick and easy way to trim the quote is to use the paper insert that comes inside the frame. Simply trace around the insert and trim the excess cardstock with scissors.
Layout the seven colors of buttons along the top edge of the quote in rainbow order. Dry fit the buttons in an arc shape from the top of the quote to the right side of the cardstock making sure to leave enough room for the picture frame. Start with red, move to orange, and then to yellow, making each arc a bit smaller.
Continue dry fitting the buttons in rainbow order, with green, then blue, then purple, and finally pink. Select the buttons with fun and interesting designs to create added depth and dimension to the finished artwork.
Using Zots from Therm-O-Web place the buttons onto the adhesive dots, then peel them off of the backing paper and attach the buttons to the cardstock in rainbow order. Work from red to pink in rainbow order to maintain the pattern created in the dry fitting step. I love Zots Adhesive Dots because they make anything into a sticker.
Place the finished Rainbow Button Art Quote back into the picture frame, without the glass, and hang it on the wall to celebrate all the colors! Buttons are an easy and versatile medium to craft with. Get a modern and polished look for your artwork with fun, funky, and patterned buttons. This would be a perfect craft to have the kiddos help you with while working on colors, counting, and patterns with them.
