Scarecrow Gnome Craft
STEP ONE
Gather all supplies. Basecoat the entire paint brush (except for the bristles), and the jumbo craft stick with Milk Chocolate acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary. I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.
STEP TWO
Dry brush Honey Brown acrylic craft paint over the Milk Chocolate in a cross-hatch pattern to resemble burlap. Let dry. Measure the jumbo craft stick to 5 inches long and cut with scissors.
STEP THREE
Attach the jumbo craft stick to the bottom edge of the paintbrush with a glue gun and glue sticks to create the scarecrow’s hat brim. You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
STEP FOUR
Using a glue gun and glue sticks, attach a black gingham ribbon around the paintbrush just above the hat brim. Tie an additional black gingham ribbon in a bow and glue it to the top of the paintbrush. Trim any long ends of the ribbon with scissors.
STEP FIVE
Attach the wooden bead nose to the center of the scarecrow gnome’s beard with a glue gun and glue sticks. To finish, embellish the scarecrow’s hat with buttons and mini silk leaves. The Dollar Tree craft section is perfect for finding good-quality arts and crafts supplies and getting creative!
