STEP ONE

Gather all supplies. You will need 16 rings to complete each pumpkin, or two packages of eight (8) rings each. Dollar Tree has such a HUGE selection of materials that can be upcycled and good quality craft supplies which won’t blow your budget!

In a well-ventilated area (or outside) coat the metal canning jar rings with Rustic Orange spray paint. Use several light layers instead of one heavy layer of paint. Set aside to dry. I like to use a large cardboard box, so the overspray doesn't coat the grass.

STEP TWO

Once dry, measure and cut a 24” length of natural jute twine. String on the 16 canning jar rings, making sure they are all facing in the same direction.

STEP THREE

Gather both ends of the twine and tie tightly, around the center of the rings, creating a circle. Secure the twine with a double knot. Trim the long ends of the twine with scissors. Position the rings until you are pleased with their circular shape.

STEP FOUR

Download, print, and cut out the MASON JAR RING PUMPKIN LEAF PATTERN from the bottom of this post. Trace the leaf pattern twice onto Olive Green Kunin Classic Felt, and then cut out with scissors. You could also use patterned cardstock, craft foam, or fabric for the leaves. Kunin Classic Felt comes in 9″ by 12″ Craft Cuts that make all your DIY projects quick and easy since it won't fray when cut.

Attach a large wooden stem to the top center of the pumpkin with a glue gun and glue sticks. Hold in place until glue cools completely. Attach the leaves to the right and left hand side of the pumpkin stem with a glue gun and glue sticks. You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.

STEP FIVE

Measure and cut four lengths of natural jute twine that are 12” long each. Tie all four pieces of the twine into one bow. Trim any long ends with scissors.

Tie black and white gingham ribbon into a bow. Trim any long ends with scissors and then fishtail cut the ribbon tails to prevent fraying. To finish, attach the twine bow and the ribbon bow to the wooden stem with a glue gun and glue sticks.
