STEP ONE
Gather all supplies. Basecoat the metal canning jar lids with Milk Chocolate acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary. I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.
STEP TWO
Download, print, and cut out the MASON JAR LID TURKEY PATTERNS from the bottom of this post. Trace or pin the beak pattern onto Gold Kunin Classic Felt, and the waddle pattern onto Burgundy Kunin Classic Felt. Cut out the patterns with scissors. Kunin Classic Felt comes in 9″ by 12″ Craft Cuts that make all your DIY projects quick and easy since it won't fray when cut.
STEP THREE
To create the turkey face, attach two wiggle eyes, the felt waddle, and then the felt beak with a glue gun and glue sticks. You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
STEP FOUR
Trim the plastic stem from three silk leaves. Attach the three silk leaves to the back of the metal mason jar lid turkey with a glue gun and glue sticks.
STEP FIVE
Glue together two tumbling tower wooden game pieces to create a stand. Basecoat the tumbling tower stand with Milk Chocolate acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. Dollar Tree has such a HUGE selection of materials that can be upcycled and good quality craft supplies which won’t blow your budget!
STEP SIX
Attach the stand to the back bottom center of the turkey with a glue gun and glue sticks. Hold in place until the glue cools completely.
