Learn How to Make Wood Slice Pumpkins with this quick and easy tutorial. I love when I have the opportunity to create with UNICORN SPiT®, UNICORN SPiT METALLIC® and UNICORN SPiT SPARKLiNG® from Eclectic Products, the makers of E6000 Adhesives. They are non-toxic concentrated gel stains that provide a transparent or opaque finish that is luminous and allows the lovely grain of the wood slice to shine through. These cuties went together in about 15 minutes with limited supplies. And if you don't have the correct color of fabric, then dye it with UNICORN SPiT® Stain, I'll show you how!

Here's how to create Wood Tree Slice Pumpkins:
STEP ONE
To begin the tutorial on How to Make Wood Slice Pumpkins, gather all supplies. Using a shallow glazed ceramic dish instead of a paper palette provides sustainability, just wash the non-toxic stain away and you are ready for your next project. I found these wood slices in a pack of four at the craft store, but they are available everywhere.
STEP TWO
Lightly basecoat the wood slices with UNICORN SPiT Phoenix Fire and a wide paintbrush, allowing the wood grain to show through. Dip the edge of the paintbrush in UNICORN SPiT METALLIC Hephaestus and add lines that define the pumpkin sections. Blend everything together with a shimmering topcoat of UNICORN SPiT SPARKLING Golden Gosling. Mix and match these techniques to create a unique group of pumpkins. TIP: Open the top of each bottle of stain, scoop up the excess stain with your paintbrush and replace it in the bottle. NOTE: UNICORN SPiT METALLICS are not yet available on Amazon, but are at most Michael's locations.
STEP THREE
Gather a twig or tree branch from the yard, and cut them into 1 1/2″ sections with a pair of wire cutters. Attach a stem to the top center of each pumpkin with the quick grabbing E6000 Extreme Tack. This is my favorite glue for attaching odd surfaces and shapes together. It is permanent when used wet, but if you drop dots on parchment paper and allow it to dry the Extreme Tack transforms into repositionable glue dots!
STEP FOUR
Let's dye some fabric scraps with UNICORN SPiT SPARKLING Lavish Lovebirds. Place a section of aluminum foil on your work surface. This will provide you with a non-porous surface, so the UNICORN SPiT will not stain your work table. Layout some scraps of what patterned fabric, apply Lavish Lovebirds to the fabric with a paintbrush, add some water to move the gel stain around, and coat the surface of the fabric. Set aside to dry.
STEP FIVE
Once dry, cut leaf shapes from the shimmering green Lavish Lovebirds dyed fabric scraps. Run a bead of E6000 Fabri-Fuse liquid fabric glue at the base of each leaf and fold in half to create additional dimension. Using a variety of twine, create four bows and trim any long ends with scissors. Attach the leaves and twine bows to the pumpkins with Fabri-Fuse to finish.
