How do you Make Harry Potter Bookmarks?
STEP ONE
To begin the Hogwarts House Tie Bookmarks, gather all supplies and materials. Download and print the free pattern sheet located at the bottom of this post.
STEP TWO
Cut out the tie base pattern with scissors. Attach the tie pattern onto Ruby, Black, Kelly Green, and Royal Blue Kunin Classic Felt with straight pins. Cut out with scissors.
STEP THREE
Measure two strips of Gold and Silver Grey Kunin Classic Felt 3/4” wide by 12” long and 1/4” wide by 12” long with the MONO Twin Permanent Marker. Carefully cut out inside the traced lines for a clean finished project.
STEP FOUR
Starting along the bottom line of the tie base, dry fit Gold stripes to the Black and Ruby ties, and Silver Grey stripes to the Royal Blue and Kelly Green ties. Use one of the 3/4″ stripes as a spacer. Roughly cut the lengths of the felt stripes with scissors.
STEP FIVE
Carefully attach all stripes to all ties with E6000 Fabri-Fuse liquid fabric glue, which is perfect for all no-sew craft projects. E6000 Fabri-fuse liquid fabric glue is extremely flexible, has stretch, won’t create bumps or bulges, and allows the felt to remain pliable — even after washing. Set as ide to allow glue to dry.
STEP SIX
Cut out the crest pattern with scissors. Attach the crest pattern onto Gold Kunin Classic Felt with a straight pin and cut out with scissors. Repeat with a second Gold felt crest and two Silver Grey felt crests.
STEP SEVEN
Roughly cut out the House Monogram Letters with scissors, and apply MONO Removable adhesive runner on the back. Attach the letter G onto Ruby felt, the letter H to Black felt, the letter S to Kelly Green felt, and the letter R to Royal Blue felt. Let an adult fussy cut the monograms with small detail scissors.
STEP EIGHT
Carefully peel away the paper pattern. Glue the letters G and H to the two Gold felt crests. Attach the letters S and R to the Silver Grey felt crests with E6000 Fabri-Fuse liquid fabric glue. Let the glue dry according to the package directions.
STEP NINE
Once the glue is dry, flip each of the Hogwarts House Tie Bookmarks over on your work surface and trim the roughly cut stripes even with the edges of the felt tie base.
STEP TEN
Attach each of the house monogram crests to the coordinating felt tie bookmark with E6000 Fabri-Fuse liquid fabric glue. Let the glue dry completely before use.
