Gingerbread Photo Ornament
STEP ONE
Download, print, and cut out the GINGERBREAD ORNAMENT PATTERNS with scissors. Pin or trace the Gingerbread body and head patterns onto Kunin© Classic™ Copper Canyon Felt. Kunin Classic Felt comes in 9″ by 12″ Craft Cuts that make all your DIY projects quick and easy since it won't fray when cut.
Cut out the Gingerbread patterns with scissors. If tracing make sure to cut inside the lines for a clean, finished project. I love drawing and tracing with the MONO Twin Permanent Marker from Tombow because it has a large bullet tip and a small extra fine tip.
Trace the circular frame onto the gingerbread body pattern with the MONO Twin permanent marker. Carefully cut out the frame with scissors, cutting inside the traced lines.
STEP TWO
Attach the gingerbread head to the gingerbread body with a glue gun and glue sticks. Leave the top three-inches open to insert the photo later. You can also use liquid fabric glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
STEP THREE
Attach a white rick rack trim to the arms, legs, and head of the gingerbread body using a glue gun and glue sticks. You could also use white dimensional fabric paint to create the incing.
Glue two small red buttons down the front of the gingerbread person's body. Tie green ribbon into a bow, fishtail the ends to prevent fraying, then attach with a glue gun and glue sticks. Get creative and decorate your gingerbread people with different types of embellishments. The Dollar Tree craft section is perfect for finding good-quality arts and crafts supplies and getting creative!
STEP FOUR
Measure and cut a piece of skinny ribbon 10” long. Knot the ends together and glue the hanger to the inside top center of the gingerbread ornament.
STEP FIVE
Scale and print a photo that is 2.75” by 2.75” square. Trace the photo circle onto the photo and then cut it out with scissors. You can use plain printer paper or glossy photo paper.
To finish the gingerbread ornament, insert the photo into the top of the frame. Make sure that the photo used is a close-up of your favorite person's face to complete the adorable look of this craft.
