Easy Stamped Watercolor Cards while Traveling
I love traveling but I just can't take a break from being creative, so I always take some fun projects with me. Easy Stamped Watercolor Cards are great to create on the go with a few simple supplies. On this last trip to Atlanta, I took my new Laura Kelly Kindness clear stamps from Therm-O-Web, an archival stamp pad, and a set of watercolors. We found a Blick Art Supply Store and picked up some watercolor paper from Strathmore. Then we got to crafting out on the pool deck in mid-town Atlanta.

Here's how to create Stamped Cards while Traveling:
STEP ONE
To begin the Easy Stamped Watercolor Cards, gather all supplies. I always travel with a zipper pouch full of my must-have art supplies including my Tombow Pencils, Pens, and mini Adhesive Runner, plus Paintbrushes, Scissors, and a mini five-inch Ruler. I also love to collect small pads of watercolor and mixed media papers that are easy to throw into a backpack. We were so lucky to have a Blick Art Materials store in the neighborhood we were visiting in Atlanta.
STEP TWO
On an acrylic stamp block, create a composition with Laura Kelly Clear Stamp Set, Me & My Peeps from Therm-O-Web and then ink it and stamp on the watercolor paper. If inking a brand new clear stamp, I always stamp it off on scrap paper a few times to prime the stamp. Press down on a smooth flat surface and apply even pressure all over the stamp block.
STEP THREE
Creating patterns with clear stamps is super easy, but sometimes the stamped image doesn't transfer evenly. Usually, I am stamping too quickly because I am an impatient crafter. My trick for this craft fail is to use my MONO Drawing Pens from Tombow and fill in the parts of the stamped image that weren't dark enough. I find that the .05 width is the perfect match for most clear stamps.
STEP FOUR
Coloring is the FUN step! This We Are Ooly Watercolor Set from Blick Art Materials is perfect for traveling because the pigments are dry, but activate easily with a bit of water. The colors are bright and vibrant and the lid doubles as a mixing tray. When finished with these Easy Stamped Watercolor Cards just wipe clean with a damp paper towel. The five-inch by the seven-inch watercolor paper was perfect to fold in half to make a card or cut in half to make a postcard.
