How do you create Strawberry Tags from Hearts?
STEP ONE
The Sizzix Big Shot Switch Plus is an electric Die Cutting Machine with an automatic feed and a one-push reverse button. Specifically for the Bigz Dies, layer a clear cutting pad on the bottom, then the die, then the material to be cut, and then a clear cutting pad on top. In this instance, I am cutting felt and cardstock, but you can cut craft foam, fabric, chipboard, and cardboard. The possibilities are endless!
STEP TWO
Die-cut a variety of sizes of hearts from Red Kunin Classic Felt. Die-cut a variety of sizes of tags from kraft cardstock.
STEP THREE
Match up the red felt hearts with the kraft cardstock tags so the sizes coordinate.
STEP FOUR
Using scissors, hand-cut strawberry leaves from Apple Green and Kelly Green Kunin Felt.
STEP FIVE
Attach the leaves to the strawberries, and the strawberries to the tags with E6000 Fabri-Fuse. E6000 Fabri-fuse liquid fabric glue is extremely flexible, has stretch, won’t create bumps or bulges, and allows the felt to remain pliable.
STEP SIX
Add small dots of E6000 Fabri-Fuse to the strawberry, then add the seed beads from the Sizzix Making Essential – Sequins & Beads. These really do look like strawberry seeds!
STEP SEVEN
Embellish the tags with a squiggly outline and dots using the MONO Twin Permanent Marker. You can even add your favorite message!
STEP EIGHT
Measure and cut 12″ lengths of twine, loop through the hole at the top of the tag and either tie in a bow, or tie in a knot to create a hanger.
