DIY Faux Tin Tile Wreath
STEP ONE
Gather all supplies. Remove the tags and packaging from all supplies and materials. Lay the tile on your work surface and trace around the outer perimeter of the grapevine wreath with the MONO Twin permanent marker. Center the design inside the wreath. I love drawing and tracing with the MONO Twin Permanent Marker from Tombow because it has a large bullet tip and a small extra fine tip.
STEP TWO
Basecoat the traced area of the faux tin tile with Burnt Orange acrylic craft paint. I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.
Before the paint has a chance to dry, gently wipe away some of the paint from the raised areas of the faux tin tile with a damp paper towel or a baby wipe. This lets some of the grey of the tile show through for that vintage.
STEP THREE
Once dry, cut out the circular shape from the plastic faux tin tile with scissors. The great part about this step is that the cut doesn't have to be all that accurate.
Attach the faux tin tile to the back of the grapevine wreath with a glue gun and glue sticks. The chippy paint and rustic wreath go well together.
STEP FOUR
Attach a wood stem to the top center of the pumpkin wreath with a glue gun and glue sticks. Cut two of the curly grapevines from the wreath and glue them to the top right-hand and left-hand sides of the stem.
STEP FIVE
Tie the gingham ribbon in a bow and attach it to the wood stem with a glue gun and glue sticks. Trim any long ends with scissors into a fishtail to prevent fraying. Dollar Tree has such a HUGE selection of materials that can be upcycled and good quality craft supplies that won’t blow your budget!
