STEP ONE
Gather all materials and then remove the packaging and labels. Basecoat the 2.5” clay pots with Lamp Black acrylic craft paint. Let the paint dry and then apply a second coat, if necessary. I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.
STEP TWO
Cut a triangle from yellow craft foam with scissors for the beak. Attach the beak and two wiggle eyes to make the crow’s face using a glue gun and glue sticks. Give the crow cheeks by dabbing a new pencil eraser in Bubblegum Pink craft paint and stamping on either side of the beak.
STEP THREE
Attach one or two black craft feathers in the drain hole of the clay pot, and secure them with glue. Measure and cut two 8” lengths of yellow ribbon for each crow. Loosely knot the ends of the ribbons to create feet.
STEP FOUR
Loosely knot the ends of the ribbon legs to create feet. Then attach the opposite end to the inside front center of the clay pot as legs. Dollar Tree has such a HUGE selection of materials that can be upcycled and good quality craft supplies which won’t blow your budget!
STEP FIVE
Download, print, and cut out the CLAY POT CROW PATTERN from the bottom of this post. Trace the wing pattern onto black craft foam with a pencil, twice, then cut out with scissors. Attach one wing to the right side and one wing to the left side of the crow with a glue gun and glue sticks.
STEP SIX
Tie bright green skinny satin ribbon into small bows. Attach to the front bottom center of the clay pot crow with a glue gun and glue sticks. This is the perfect way to use up scraps from your ribbon stash.
