Create Farmhouse Pumpkins
STEP ONE
Gather all supplies. Basecoat two Dollar Tree foam pumpkins with Titanium White acrylic paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Basecoat one Dollar Tree foam pumpkin with Lamp Black acrylic paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.

STEP TWO
Attach wiggle eyes in a variety of sizes to the black foam pumpkin randomly with a glue gun and glue sticks. You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait fo it to dry.

STEP THREE
Remove the stem, thread the wooden pick through the center of a black paper doily, and then insert the stem back into the center of the white foam pumpkin.

Gently spray some water on the black doily to make it pliable. Brush a generous coat of Decou-Page Medium over the doily and pumpkin with a basecoat paintbrush. Smooth any wrinkles out with your fingers. Set aside to dry. Water-based Decou-Page Medium from DecoArt is non-toxic, dries clear, and doesn't have a strong smell.

STEP FOUR
Insert flat metal thumbtacks into a corrugated cardboard bow or lid. Paint with Lamp Black acrylic paint. Set aside to dry and apply a second coat if necessary.

Once dry, insert the black thumbtacks into the foam pumpkins in a circular pattern around the stem. Then create random vertical stripes with the remaining thumbtacks. Dollar Tree has such a HUGE selection of materials that can be upcycled and good quality craft supplies which won’t blow your budget!

More Dollar Tree Crafts
These Dollar Tree Halloween Votives are my most recent creation. I love walking through the aisles and looking for everyday items that can be transformed. A few simple supplies from the Dollar Tree are made over into a cute as can be Jack-O-Lantern, Bat, and Ghost to light the way to Halloween!

One of my favorite thing to keep hoard is Mason Jars because they are just so versatile and inexpensive. Recently I discovered that by combining some of my favorite Tombow products I could create a tinted glaze to add to plastic and glass to change the color. My project How to DIY Mason Jar Witch Lantern will step you through this process.

Q: Why was the skeleton laughing so hard? A: Someone tickled his funny bone. Bad jokes aside, this How to DIY Skeleton Bubble Bath with Poly-Fil® is so easy to complete with limited supplies. Poly-Fil® from Fairfield World™ is the quick secret to the sudsy bubble bath. A Dollar Tree tub, skeleton, and plastic ornaments make it cost-effective, and a bit spooky!
