Earrings Made from Leather
- Leather Earring Blanks
- Houndstooth Wood Block Stamp
- Archival Ink Pad, Jet Black – Ranger Ink
- Earring Wires, Gold
- Needle Nose Pliers – 2 pairs

Easy Stamped Earrings
STEP ONE
To begin the stamped leather earrings, gather all supplies. These leather earring blanks included a jump ring at the top, but we cannot stamp over the metal jump ring.
Hold a pair of needle nose pliers in each hand and gently open the metal jump ring by twisting. Hold your left hand still and twist forward with your right hand to open the ring. Never open jewelry findings by pulling open as you will compromise the integrity of the metal.
Slide the open jump ring from the hole at the top of the teardrop. Leave it open so it can be easily reinserted later.

STEP TWO
Flip the wooden stamp so the design is facing up and load the stamp with ink by pouncing the ink pad over the surface of the stamp. Any type of stamp would work with this tutorial, just make sure that the pattern is not too large.

STEP THREE
Place a scrap of paper under your work surface and press the stamp onto the surface of the leather earring blank. Press firmly to insure that the pattern is transferred successfully.

STEP FOUR
Repeat the above steps with the second earring blank. As with all stamping projects, the variations in the leather, the ink and the stamp give each earring a unique appearance.

STEP FIVE
Insert the metal jump ring back onto the hole at the top of the earring, then insert the loop at the bottom of the earring wire. Using both sets of needle nose pliers, close the jump ring. Hold your left hand still and twist backward with your right hand to close the ring. Make sure that the jump ring is closed all the way.
