Here's what you need to make a Dollar Tree Turkey:

.

Here's how to create a Turkey for Thanksgiving:

STEP ONE

To begin the Dollar Tree Craft Stick Turkey, gather all supplies.  I love to keep certain supplies like wooden sticks in my stash all year long because they are versatile and easy to create with. Spread out these main supplies on your work surface and let the kids' imaginations run WILD!

STEP TWO

To create the turkey, line up five jumbo craft sticks on your work surface. Using scissors, trim additional sticks to the width of the turkey and attach them together with a glue gun and glue sticks. Paint the front and the sides of the turkey with Light Cinnamon acrylic paint. Set aside to dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.

STEP THREE

Draw a triangle beak from Yellow Kunin Classic Felt, a wiggly waddle shape from Red Kunin Classic Felt, and two turkey feet from Orange Kunin Classic Felt. I love drawing and tracing with the MONO Twin Permanent Marker from Tombow because it has a large bullet tip and a small extra fine tip. Cut out all shapes with scissors. Attach all features, including two wiggle eyes to the turkey with a glue gun and glue sticks.

STEP FOUR

Select eight to ten small feathers in assorted colors and place them around the turkey on your work surface. Mix and match colors to create a fun pattern. TIP: As soon as you open a package of craft feathers, place them in a zip-top sandwich bag. Then pick feathers out, one at a time, so the feather fluff doesn’t get all over your work surface.

STEP FIVE

To finish the Dollar Tree Craft Stick Turkey, flip it over and attach all colorful feathers to the back of the turkey with a glue gun and glue sticks. You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry. Now your turkey is finished unless you want to give him additional personality by adding embellishments like ribbon, twine, rhinestones, buttons, or even more feathers!
