DIY Craft Stick Pumpkin Pie
STEP ONE
Gather all supplies. To create the pumpkin pie slice, create a triangle with three jumbo craft sticks on your work surface, and secure at the corners with a glue gun and glue sticks. You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
Dry fit additional jumbo craft sticks along the length of the triangle and mark with a pencil. Trim the ends of the jumbo craft sticks with scissors. Dollar Tree has such a HUGE selection of materials that can be upcycled and good quality craft supplies that won’t blow your budget!
Attach the trimmed jumbo craft sticks to the back of the pumpkin pie slice with a glue gun and glue sticks.
STEP TWO
Basecoat the entire pumpkin pie slice with Canyon Orange acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary. I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.
STEP THREE
Download, print, and cut out the PUMPKIN PIE PATTERN from the bottom of this post. Trace or pin the crust pattern onto Cashmere Tan Kunin Classic Felt. Cut out the pattern with scissors cutting inside the traced lines. I love drawing and tracing with the MONO Twin Permanent Marker from Tombow because it has a large bullet tip and a small extra fine tip.
STEP FOUR
Attach the Cashmere Tan Felt crust to the pie slice with a glue gun and glue sticks. Pinch and pleat the felt as it is glued, to give realistic dimension. Kunin Classic Felt comes in 9″ by 12″ Craft Cuts that make all your DIY projects quick and easy since it won't fray when cut.
STEP FIVE
To finish, glue a jumbo white tinsel pom pom to the center of the pumpkin pie slice. This pom pom is to symbolize the whipped cream.
