Create a Haunted House from Popsicle Sticks
STEP ONE
Gather all supplies. To create the Haunted House, line up seven jumbo craft sticks on your work surface. Using scissors, trim additional jumbo craft sticks to the width of the house and attach them with a glue gun and glue sticks.

Create a roof by gluing two jumbo craft sticks in a triangle pattern on the top of the house. You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.

STEP TWO
Flip the house over, lay four jumbo craft sticks horizontally on the gable end of the roof, trace the edge of the roof with a pencil, and trim to size with scissors. Attach to the back of the roof with a glue gun and glue sticks.
To create the chimney, measure and cut a jumbo craft stick into two pieces that are 2” long. Glue the sections together with the remaining piece of craft stick. Attach to the side of the roof with a glue gun and glue sticks.

STEP THREE
Paint the front and sides of the house with Lavender acrylic craft paint. Set aside to dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.
I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.

Paint the roof, chimney, and one additional regular craft stick with Lamp Black acrylic craft paint. Set aside to dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.

STEP FOUR
Download, print, and cut out the CRAFT STICK HAUNTED HOUSE PATTERNS from the bottom of this post. Using a pencil, trace the ghost onto white craft foam. Trace the door onto green craft foam. Trace the window twice onto yellow craft foam. Trace the pumpkin onto orange craft foam. Trace the sign and pumpkin stem onto brown craft foam. Trace the bat onto black craft foam. Cut out all shapes with scissors, making sure to cut inside the traced lines for a clean, finished project.
Craft felt would not work for this project but colored cardstock would be a good substitute.

STEP FIVE
Create detail on the foam pieces with the MONO Twin permanent black marker. Add a face to the ghost and the jack-o-lantern. Write KEEP OUT on the sign. Draw lines on the door. Add an outline and panes on the windows. A washable marker will smear on the craft foam.

STEP SIX
Glue the sign to the craft stick sign post, and trim it to length with scissors. Attach the door, windows, ghost, pumpkin, sign, and bat to the Haunted House with a glue gun and glue stick. Use the photo as your guide.

STEP SEVEN
Attach two orange self-adhesive rhinestones to the bat for eyes. To finish, glue an orange button to the door as the door knob.
