Here's how to create Popsicle Stick Potion Bottles
STEP ONE
Gather all supplies. To create the large potion bottle, line up three jumbo craft sticks on your work surface. Using scissors, trim additional jumbo craft sticks to the width of the bottle and attach with a glue gun and glue sticks. To create the medium potion bottle, line up eight regular craft sticks on your work surface. Using scissors, trim additional jumbo craft sticks to the width of the bottle and attach with a glue gun and glue sticks. To create the small potion bottle, line up six mini craft sticks on your work surface. Using scissors, trim additional jumbo craft sticks to the width of the bottle and attach with a glue gun and glue sticks.
TIP: You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
STEP TWO
Basecoat the large potion bottle with Warm Sunset acrylic craft paint, the medium potion bottle with Lavender acrylic craft paint, and the small potion bottle with Sour Apple acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary. I love Americana Acrylics from DecoArt because they have one-coat coverage on most surfaces.
STEP THREE
Basecoat one jumbo craft stick with Warm Sunset, Sour Apple, and Lavender acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary. Using a paintbrush, basecoat the second jumbo craft stick with Lamp Black acrylic craft paint.
STEP FOUR
Cut apart the three colored sections from the painted craft stick and attach them to the top center of the potion bottles with a glue gun and glue sticks. This creates the neck of the bottles. Cut apart the black craft stick into three sections and attach it to the top center of the bottles' necks with a glue gun and glue sticks. This creates the lids of the bottles. The Dollar Tree craft section is perfect for finding good quality arts and crafts supplies to get creative with the kiddos!
STEP FIVE
Cut three rough and random rectangles from black craft foam, the width of each potion bottle. Download, and print out the CRAFT STICK POTION BOTTLE PATTERNS from the bottom of this post. Cut out the circular labels with scissors. Attach the black rectangles and labels to the potion bottles with a glue gun and glue sticks.
