Here's how to Make a Carrot from Buttons:
STEP ONE
To begin the Carrot Button Craft with Free Printable Games, gather all supplies. Layout the Button Jam Orange buttons from smallest to largest. I am using 18 buttons for this carrot, but you could use more or less. For the very tip select a tiny button that has a shank or loop on the back, and the remaining buttons should all have the traditional two or four holes.
STEP TWO
Bend the orange chenille stem in half, and thread on the tiny button with the shank, positioning it at the bend. Continue to add buttons to the chenille stem, threading both ends through the holes, and sliding them down. Stack the buttons in size order from smallest to largest.
STEP THREE
Once all buttons are stacked on the chenille stem, twist it tightly one time. Wrap the bright green, kelly green, and black baker's twine around your hand 10 times for each color. Remove baker's twine from your hand and place it at the intersection of the chenille stem.
STEP FOUR
Twist the chenille stem two more times to secure the baker's twine in place. Trim the ends of the chenille stem with scissors, then cut the loops of baker's twine to create fringe. Cut an eight-inch length of kelly green baker's twine, wrap and then tie in a knot around the carrot top fringe. Trim any long ends with scissors.
STEP FIVE
To finish the Carrot Button Craft with Free Printable Games, measure and cut a 24″ length of kelly green baker's twine, then wrap it around the neck of a small jar, securing it in the back with a knot. Trim any long ends with scissors. Fill the jar with the buttons you will need to play the games.
